About Dukati

Akademski folklorni ansambl ,,Dukati,, Čačak osnovan je in 2002. u Čačku i u svom sastavu ima oko 150 članova.

Academic Folk Ensemble Dukati conducts its work and rehearsals in the premises of the Economic School in Čačak. It also has its children's and youth ensemble section in Goračići, where it has around 40 members.

Currently, in the ensemble's repertoire, there are 15 choreographies. The aim of setting up choreographies is to represent the ethnochoreological spaces of Serbia and the region. The task of setting up choreographies and musical arrangements is entrusted to professors of ethnomusicology and choreographers.

In the last five years, the ensemble has toured and had outstanding performances with solo programs at festivals in Poland, Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Spain, and numerous cities in Serbia. According to assessments and decisions of professional juries, valuable awards and recognitions have been achieved at individual festivals and competitions.

The Folk Ensemble "Dukati" is a member of the section CIOFF Serbia.

AFA „Dukati“ je organizator i domaćin dva međunarodna festivala u Čačku:

  • folklore festival „Opančići sitan vez“, which gathers children's folklore ensembles. In 2024, it will be held for the sixth time, and around 300 children will participate in it.
  • Festival "Evenings of Folklore by the West Morava River" which has been held in Čačak for 19 years and involves approximately 400 performers. The festival gathers performance and veteran ensembles and is the oldest festival in our city.

The love for folklore and folk tradition is something nurtured and developed within the ensemble. This special energy is transmitted to the audience during each performance. The ensemble is a place where we respect, appreciate, and support each other. Additionally, it's a space where first loves are born.

The friendships that develop within the Dukati ensemble, as well as those that arise during tours and encounters with members of other ensembles from our country and abroad, last a lifetime. We are proud to have many such opportunities because our performances in Serbia and abroad, along with our work on tours, bring valuable experiences and memories that are cherished forever!
